The scoring is detailed on the new event page, but basically you'll get a point for each one, plus if you collect 3-of-a-kind, you'll get bonus points for that, as well as if you collect all 10!
This season there's also all-new categories - you'll see them on sign-up, and note that there is no correlation to anything! I'm trying out a new system, we'll see how it works out. 😊
Also a HUGE thank you goes out to Segment Speedster Louis for designing these awesome critter icons!!
And given the theme is the Island Wildlife Adventure, I'm also promoting a wildlife advocacy group that does amazing work across BC and Canada, the Fur-Bearers. They'll also be contributing a short section about wildlife and peaceful co-existence in the weekly updates! 🥰🦝
So without further ado, here's a link to the brand new event page (which has more event details):
https://abouttheride.ca/gravelquest/
The sign-up is live as well, look for the big green button! (Please sign up each season!)
And the final big change is I'm creating a second email list for this series, with the plan to separate the Road and Gravel series. (So next fall, we'll introduce the Fall GravelQuest, instead of the GRAVEL EDITION of the Segment Challenge.)
You can update your settings manually (see bottom of this email), or when you sign up, you can check a box and I'll add you to the new GravelQuest list.
If you don't ride gravel, but enjoy the updates, feel free to join the list as well! Again, see the bottom of the email, or use any of the Newsletter sign-up boxes on the website, or of course hit reply and let me know.
I won't be changing anything with the Segment Challenge email list, so when updates go out there for the next series in the spring, you're all set, or can remove yourself from that list if preferred as well of course.
Phew!
So go sign up, the first segments will be posted the evening of December 6th, and I look forward to seeing you out on the trails!!
Safe and speedy riding all! 🚲
