Hey all!! Trying something a bit different - a little crowdfunding for the BC Crit Champs on Sunday!
I had a blast as holder at the TT Champs today, watching every rider take off! (Wish I could share the results...several Segment Challenge riders had great races...but no idea on the finishes!!! You can check out the lap segment here tho for some idea.....)
Sunday is the BC Crit Champs, it'll be a great race to watch!! It's downtown Sidney, and the U23/Expert Women race at 2:15, and the Men at 3:30 - hope you can come out and cheer!!
If unfamiliar, in Crits there are Prime laps, where there's an award for the first person over the line on an announced lap for a prize - usually cash for the rider! It helps animate the race, often used if there's a lull. Plus of course it rewards racers for their efforts!
It's also a way to get a little promotion, and would be used to represent our About The Ride community and the Segment Challenge!
So my goal is to crowdfund for (at least) three primes - U23 Women, Expert Women, and U23 Men.
Let's give them all a little love!!
Basically send me an e-transfer for whatever you'd like, $5, $20, whatever!
I'll sort out the amounts for each, and if there's enough, maybe do two primes for each! (Ideally is at least $50 for a prime.)
If you've got a few dollars to spare for BC's emerging racers, send that e-transfer over to my main address, Dave@AboutTheRide.ca - and I'll add it to our collective pot!!

More details on the BC Champs site here, tomorrow (Saturday) is the Road Race out in Metchosin, head out there as well if you can, watch the pain faces on Liberty Drive where most of the fireworks will be happening! The Elite races start at 12 noon.
