Another week, another batch of segments done!

Numbers seem to be dwindling a bit with just 26 who logged an effort, is it the weather? Conflicting rides? Hopefully we'll get you back this week!

Once again, this week features a TIMED/Challenge segment, and for those of you who participated in Season 1, it's time for revenge!

You may recall Crystalview - it was during the Ali Jackson Action Week celebrating her Paris-Roubaix victory, with some 'inspired' segments, including Crystalview which featured ~50m of fairly steep gravel climbing to conclude the segment.. You've done it on a road bike, now let's do it on a gravel bike! It will be interesting to see if that makes a difference in times!

Lots of our riders were out for the TS Cross Fondo today, great day for it! In pro cycling news, today was also the first round of the Cyclocross World Cups, down in Waterloo, WI, and both races had stacked fields featuring top names from Europe, and the racing did not disappoint! Check it out if you can!

Like who are some of our top women? There's Alison Jackson...but on the MTB side we've got Jennifer Jackson. No relation!

And over on the men's side, Michael Woods is one of our top road riders of course...but there's also Island sensation in the MTB world Carter Woods. Also no relation.

SOUNDTRACK NOTES

There's a new Sufjan Stevens album that dropped - it's pretty good, but on the mellow side, so probably won't be a favourite for me.. Of notable interest is the final track on the album - I recognized the lyrics.....and was thinking 'is this a revision of another of his songs?'.

No....it's a cover... 'There's A World'. I really, really know the lyrics.....oh wait, it's Neil Young, this is a track from Harvest!! It's SO DIFFERENT. It's pretty cool, but I feel like the song needs some angst...and this track is missing that...but otherwise pretty neat. 🎶

Week #6 – Oct 16th - 22nd – Return to Crystalview

We feature a fun little gravel section that parallels the Goose this week, one which you may not even know about! And just off that is another TIMED/Challenge segment, and an opportunity for those that rode Season 1 to get some revenge on a segment that gave many some grief. If you recall, Crystalview finishes with about 50m of fairly steep gravel....and now's your chance to give it a go on a gravel bike!

Segment 6A Name: Not Trespassing Sprint
Deets: 0.86km, 24m elevation gain.
This is an existing segment, QOM, KOM & LL are irrelevant!

To access this one, head out on the Goose and take the E&N "exit" before that dangerous trestle before the Colwood Corners, and when you get to the top of the hill, take the crosswalk and little gravel hairpin, then make a right and it's there at the bottom of the hill! If you're coming back into town, this is a nice alternative to the Goose, and if you're going to Thetis, it points you in that direction nicely as well! And it's much more pleasant in this direction, the other way makes for a lot of climbing.... 🤢

Segment 6B Name: Crystalview
Deets: 0.49km, 56m elevation gain.
This is an existing segment, QOM is The Squaremeat with a 2:10, KOM is Spencer Floyd with a 1:34 & LL is Dale Campbell with 1 effort!

We're baaack! For those who did Season 1, will you be faster on a road bike, or a gravel bike? It'll be pretty neat to see! You can access this off Atkins, or halfway down the 6A segment you can access the road as well. It starts off on the tarmac, and finishes with a pretty nasty gravel climb to the very top. Enjoy!!
