Hey everyone!
Just a quick 'pre-update' here, got back a bit late from Cumberland, and don't quite have enough time for a full update tonight, should get it out tomorrow!
Most important: this week's segments are posted on the site! (I know some of you will be hitting them tomorrow!)
Handy link: https://abouttheride.ca/victoria-segment-challenge/
There were some issues with the 4B Timed/Challenge segment this week, in the end I see it captured 14/19 people who rode the full segment this week.
It happened on one of my rides as well, with Sofia and Dave B, and Sofia's time didn't register.
I created a second 'V2' version of this, so I can see who rode it, but unfortunately I can't really give a time for the OG segment, so best I think I can do is post your time for the V2 segment if it wasn't counted. It's longer, the OG segment is about 400m, but the new one is 500m, because Strava now forces a 500m minimum. 🤦♂️
I think that's about the best I can do, short of trying to figure out times manually, which would also be relatively inaccurate.
Strava has also been bugged, I went to create the 'B' segment for this week, and it while it ran through the whole process as usual, the segment doesn't actually appear. (If anyone's bored, try creating a segment, and let me know if it happens to work for you!)
So currently the 5B segment on the site has a Route posted, instead of a segment, so you can still get out and ride it, and when Strava fixes the problem, I'll whip up a segment and update y'all.
Also, for some reason, all links/URLs have vanished from the Strava Group posts. So my post to the Group doesn't link anywhere.
Good grief.
I've also included that in my email to their Support. But as mentioned, you can always find the links on the main series page, or you can try searching the segment title in the Strava app, Dan B had some luck doing it that way. (He's who pointed out the missing URLs as well!)
On the bright side, I appear to be actually getting IG notifications once more, record number of people posting photos this week, so cool to see!
Hope you can get out for the holiday Monday, looks like it'll a lovely day!! 🌞
Safe and speedy riding all! 🚲
