Victoria has a wide range of racing on the road, and here’s what we know is coming up for 2026 so far!

Our own road events include the Victoria Segment Challenge (starting back up in March, and the summer season in June), and the Royal Bay Crit returning this summer, plus we may have a whole new series for you! Check back in 2026 for more Road Segment Challenge seasons, and the second edition of So You Think You Can Climb!

ATR Events

We host a range of ‘independent’ (ie, ride on your own time, not bunch race) events on the road over the summer, here’s what’s coming up for 2026:

Royal Bay Crits

Our very own ATR crits, in the heart of Royal Bay – check out our next one on Sunday, May 10th, and sign up to our ‘Main’ email list to make sure you don’t miss out when the next occurs!

VCL (Victoria Cycling League)

Victoria’s road racing scene features the VCL (Victoria Cycling League), traditionally with a few dozen races from April thru July. Unfortunately no league results for 2024 or 2025, making it an odd series to compete it. Here is an archive of the 2025 season, and below is the 2026 schedule.

Also in July we’ll should expect to see the Victoria Cycling Festival, the three day event often features a TT in North Saanich, a hilly road race in Metchosin, and a crit around the Legislature!

Up-island in Nanaimo MIVA have regular TTs and rides, check out their busy calendar here!

Further Up-island in Comox is the Comox Valley Cycle Club with several TTs.

On the mainland, 2026 events we have:

  • The Spring Openers series run Mar 1st, Mar 7th, Mar 8th & Mar 29th by Local Ride, if you’re itching for racing and willing to travel!
  • The Spring Series (they reclaimed the name in 2026!) organized by the Thrashers is a 6 race series, Mar 14th, Mar 21st, Apr 18th, Apr 25th, May 2nd & May 23rd, looks exciting!
  • Also of note, in 2023 the Delta road race is July 9th (website wasn’t working), the Gastown Grand Prix is July 8th, 2026, and perhaps some day we’ll see the return of BC Superweek!

2026 BC Provincial Championships

The BC Road Champs (TT, Road, Crit) are on the mainland 2026. Dates have been set, more details TBA.

  • May 30th & 31st, TT & Road Race in Abbotsford, hosted by the Thrashers
  • Crit may be Aug 9, rumoured to be in Victoria…?

2026 Canadian National Championships

  • Nat. Road & TT Champs – Jun 25th, Elite, Jr, Para in St. Georges, PQ, details TBA.
  • Nat. Road & TT Champs – Aug 1st, Masters in Calgary, AB, details TBA.

Time Trials

The Sidney Velo TT series has been a Tuesday regular for decades, thank you to the Sidney Velo club for hosting this event so long! Here you can enjoy the past glory of results on their site.

Also check out the Comox Valley club above, with their new TT series for 2026!

Track Racing

The local velodrome, built for the 1994 Victoria Commonwealth Games, is a 333m outdoor track with 29 degree banking – it makes for fun, fast and safe racing! It’s at the Juan de Fuca Rec Centre, and typically operates from April thru September, with weekly training sessions, a few larger events like Trackfest and Provincial Champs, and possibly weekly racing. Check out the GVVA for more details. (PS – let me know if you’ve seen my Argon 18 race bike which went missing around 2021!!)

  • Open House: Apr 12th
  • Track Challenge: May 9th-10th
  • Pacific GP: June 6th-8th
  • Track Fest 1 – Time Trial Challenge: Jun 28th
  • Track Fest 2: Aug 16th-17th (possible this may be Provincial Champs)

2026 Provincial Championships

  • Likely in Burnaby, in November!

2026 National Championships

  • Jan 9th-11th – Track Nationals (Elite/Master/Para), Bromont, PQ
  • Mar 27th-29th – Track Nationals (Junior/U17), Edmonton

Road Clinics

Local Road Clinics

There’s not a lot in the way of road clinics, but there are some highlights! CyclingBC hosts some, but they’re on the mainland.

  • 2026 Tripleshot Women’s Clinic: Apr 14th – Jun 2nd. Normally head over to the Tripleshot website for details, but nothing there at the time of posting, maybe check their Instagram? Runs 8 weeks, Tuesday evenings, $170.
  • 2026 Future Champs Camp: May 21st -24th. This year off-island in Penticton, for youth 14-22, details here.
